• When Melinda was done, she was pleased to find he was dressed too. She gasped a little bit. He looked good in jeans, but she knew that. She wasn't anticipating the dress shirt and the blazer he wore over it. He looked every bit the confident, handsome young man ready to show his date a good time, and then hopefully get lucky later. She smiled at the memory of similar dates she had gone on as a freshman in college. Part of her wished that he could have seen her then when she was fresh and youthful. Another part was glad that he wasn't aware of how immature she had been as a young adult.
• Melinda stood up, kissed him, stepped into some comfortable shoes (she had spike heels, but those were for later), and they rode the glass elevator down.
• This time they were far less tense and could take in the beauty of the Resort. The building was large, and the atrium that the lobby resided in was at least seven stories high, primarily made of glass. The twilight sun that lit most of it was gorgeous, and it perfectly matched the Caribbean decor and plants. She spotted Angela and William right away among the people milling about. William wore shorts and a muscle shirt, and he looked good in them. Angela wore an extremely short skirt and a bikini top. Melinda had a moment's insecurity when she compared herself to her new friend, but Marcus' hand on her back reassured her more than any words could.
